LION & LAMB Health & Safety Waiver and Informed Consent

Location: 26 BREE STREET CAPE TOWN, Lion & Lamb premises and affiliated locations
Participant: The undersigned individual

1. Acknowledgement of Activities

I understand and acknowledge that participation at Lion & Lamb (PTY) LTD includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:

  • Physical movement and functional training

  • Strength or bodyweight exercise

  • Group fitness or movement classes

  • Breathwork practices

  • Cold exposure, including ice baths

  • Infrared sauna and heat-based recovery practices

  • Meditation, stillness, and embodiment practices

  • Related wellness, recovery, and training activities

I acknowledge that these activities may be physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding.

2. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in the above activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • Muscle strain, joint injury, or soft tissue injury

  • Dizziness, light-headedness, fainting, dehydration, or overheating

  • Cardiovascular stress, changes in blood pressure or heart rate

  • Emotional or psychological responses

  • Slips, falls, or impact injuries

  • Risks associated with heat exposure (including infrared sauna use), such as dehydration, overheating, or heat intolerance

  • In rare cases, serious injury or medical events

I voluntarily choose to participate with full knowledge and acceptance of these risks.

3. Medical Fitness and Disclosure

I confirm that:

  • I am physically and medically fit to participate in Lion & Lamb activities, including heat-based and cold-exposure practices

  • I have disclosed any relevant medical conditions, injuries, medications, or health concerns, including but not limited to cardiovascular conditions, respiratory conditions, neurological conditions, pregnancy, or heat sensitivity

  • I have consulted a medical professional where necessary

  • I understand that participation against medical advice is done at my own risk

I agree to stop participation immediately and notify a facilitator if I experience pain, dizziness, distress, overheating, shortness of breath, or any adverse symptoms.

4. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release, waive, and discharge Lion & Lamb (PTY) LTD, its directors, officers, employees, independent contractors, instructors, facilitators, agents, and representatives from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to my participation in Lion & Lamb activities.

This release applies except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

5. Indemnity

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lion & Lamb (PTY) LTD and all persons listed above from any claims, costs, damages, or liabilities arising from my participation in these activities, including claims brought by third parties on my behalf.

6. Consent to Participate

I acknowledge that:

  • Participation is voluntary

  • I may withdraw from any activity at any time

  • No guarantees have been made regarding outcomes or results

I understand that Lion & Lamb does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or supervision of medical conditions.

7. Agreement and Signature

I confirm that I have read this Health & Safety Waiver and Informed Consent in full, that I understand its contents, and that I voluntarily agree to be bound by it.
